Best software for online Quran academies (2026)

Choose a hifz-focused competitor for structured memorization records, or school software for group teaching. Choose Halqora for online one-to-one Quran classes with family billing in several currencies and fixed outcome rules.

Who should choose which

Choose Halqora if

  • Online one-to-one Quran teaching with a synced Mushaf classroom.
  • Family invoices, per-student currencies and admin-reviewed billing runs.
  • Private class and invoice links without family accounts.

Choose another tool if

  • MaktabMate for structured sabaq, sabqi and manzil records.
  • Clasify for Egypt-based academies seeking white-label branding and built-in video.
  • Teach 'n Go for schools seeking group classes and an Arabic interface.

In depth

For online one-to-one Quran academies, compare Clasify, Halqora and QuranSuite; for hifz-focused or in-person maktabs, compare Ilmify, MaktabMate, Muallim, Nahjuna and Sabaq. Teach ‘n Go suits general Islamic schools, while Qutor is a tutor marketplace rather than academy management software.

Halqora is our product. We’ve tried to keep this comparison fair: competitor details come from their public pages, checked on the date shown. Tell us if anything is out of date at support@halqora.com.

Best Quran academy software: the short answer

Choose the software that matches your class format before comparing prices. A school managing classroom attendance and memorization targets has different needs from an online academy matching family payments to individual lessons. A tutor marketplace solves another problem: finding teaching relationships rather than running your existing academy.

For structured hifz records, MaktabMate describes sabaq, sabqi and manzil tracking, while Muallim describes memorization targets. Those are stronger starting points than Halqora if structured memorization records decide your purchase. The Quran academy management software guide helps define your requirements. These are vendor descriptions checked as of 21 October 2026, rather than results from classroom testing.

For online operations, decide whether you need family accounts or prefer private links, how you bill siblings, and who resolves missed classes. Halqora is general management software from Talt AI for online academies and tutoring businesses, from language and music schools to Quran academies; Murouj Academy runs on it. Halqora schedules, bills and calculates teacher pay for one-to-one classes; siblings can share a family invoice.

How we grouped and ordered the tools

The tools are grouped by academy type and listed alphabetically within each group: online one-to-one academies; hifz-focused and in-person maktabs; general school software; and a marketplace. Placement is not a ranking. Halqora appears between Clasify and QuranSuite in the online group.

The comparison uses the supplied vendors’ public pricing and feature pages, checked as of 21 October 2026. Published claims stay attributed to the vendor. A missing public description leaves a question for your demonstration; a blank on a website does not establish that the software cannot do the work.

Prices remain in their published currencies. A capacity-based subscription, an active-student charge and a marketplace commission are different costs. Compare the charging unit and included student allowance before looking at the headline amount. Payment-provider costs also need a separate conversation with the vendor and provider.

Classroom and account claims come from Clasify’s product page, QuranSuite’s homepage, and the vendor pages named above. School and payment claims come from Teach ‘n Go’s Islamic school page and payment management page. Ask payroll questions against Teach ‘n Go’s product overview rather than assuming invoicing includes teacher pay.

For online one-to-one academies

Clasify

Clasify says its platform combines built-in WebRTC video with white-label branding. An Egypt-based academy that wants those features has a clear reason to assess Clasify. Halqora does not need to win that decision for the comparison to be useful.

Clasify’s pricing page states no trial and no refunds as of 21 October 2026. Request a demonstration of your actual timetable and invoice process before paying. We could not find a Quran viewer or structured hifz tracking on Clasify’s public page as of 21 October 2026. Ask the vendor directly rather than treating that finding as a product limitation.

Halqora

Halqora is not Quran-only software: it serves online academies across subjects, and a Quran academy uses the same scheduling, billing and payroll as any other. It fits an online academy whose administrative work follows individual classes. Scheduling uses scheduling rules in each IANA time zone. Each student has a permanent private class link showing the next class. Families also receive a private invoice page and PDF without creating an account. Links do not expire; replacing a link stops the old link working.

Halqora’s Quran classroom with synced Mushaf combines video, a shared whiteboard and teacher-controlled page synchronization. Quran text and page fonts are credited to Quran Foundation (Quran.com); the English translations are credited to Rowwad Translation Center · QuranEnc.com and Pickthall. Chat stays closed until an admin opens it. Student screen sharing needs the teacher’s permission.

Billing runs create draft invoices, prepaid or postpaid. An admin reviews and sends the invoices. Unpaid invoices receive automatic email reminders, with defaults of 3 days before the due date, 3 days after and 10 days after. The due date defaults to 7 days after sending. Invoice due days, reminder schedules and email wording can be changed.

Each student has a currency; invoices are never converted. Mercury sync is USD only. Halqora matches incoming Wise (wise.com) payments rather than creating transfers. Dashboard USD totals are approximate, so review balances in the invoice currency when reconciling money.

Teachers record a completed class with a report, a student no-show or a student cancellation. Admins resolve other outcomes and record late minutes, wait minutes and emergency exceptions. Completed-class reports contain a rating from 1 to 5 and written feedback for admins. Families cannot see the reports, and payroll waits until reports are in.

Teacher pay is calculated per class from an hourly rate without currency conversion. Fixed outcome rules include a grace period of up to 2 minutes late, a flat 5% deduction at 3 to 5 minutes, and a minute of pay lost per minute late beyond 5 minutes, with a floor of zero. A student no-show pays the teacher in full after a wait of at least half the class.

As of 21 October 2026, Starter is USD 39/month for up to 25 active students. Academy is USD 2.50 per active student per month with a USD 99 minimum. Scale has custom pricing for 300+ students. Annual billing gives 2 months free. The offer includes a 14-day pilot, free onboarding and data import; confirm the plan’s classroom scope during the pilot discussion.

QuranSuite

QuranSuite says its platform includes a Quran reader, reading and memorization progress, parent accounts linked to children, and live-class listen-in. An academy wanting structured progress alongside parent access should include QuranSuite in its demonstrations. Those are meaningful differences from Halqora’s internal lesson reports and account-free family links.

According to QuranSuite’s features page, invoices generate on the 1st for active enrollments, totals are separated by currency, and salary calculations can be fixed or per student. We could not find public prices or named payment providers on QuranSuite’s features page as of 21 October 2026. Request both before comparing costs.

For hifz-focused and in-person maktabs

Ilmify

Ilmify, formerly Maktab App, describes hifz and nazirah tracking, attendance alerts and fee collection. An Indian maktab whose daily work centers on those records has a reason to evaluate Ilmify before a tool focused on online class billing.

As of 21 October 2026, Ilmify lists Alif at USD 35 and Ba at USD 70 per institute per month. Seen is USD 1 and Sheen USD 3 per student per month, with a minimum of 50 students; billing is annual. Ask which plan includes your required records and whether the payment process fits your location.

MaktabMate

MaktabMate describes juz-by-juz records for sabaq, sabqi and manzil. Those structured fields make MaktabMate worth prioritizing when memorization tracking is central. Halqora’s written lesson feedback does not replace that structure.

MaktabMate lists Lite at GBP 9.99/month for 10 students and 3 teachers, Max at GBP 39.99/month, and a 30-day trial as of 21 October 2026. Its page describes Stripe through the school’s account and manual standing orders. Ask how staff handle an unpaid fee and how parents access progress during the trial.

Muallim

Muallim describes hifz targets and attendance tools. Its pricing page lists USD 3 per active student per month and a 30-day free trial as of 21 October 2026. A school organizing memorization targets should test those targets with a teacher’s real records.

Nahjuna

Nahjuna describes an Interactive Quran Viewer, assignments, analytics and parent progress visibility. Its page offers a 20-day free trial as of 21 October 2026. We could not find public prices on Nahjuna’s public page as of 21 October 2026.

Sabaq

Sabaq at sabaaq.com addresses in-person madrasas in Bangladesh. As of 21 October 2026, Sabaq lists BDT 500/month, BDT 5,000/year or BDT 20,000 as a one-time option, plus installation. Request the installation amount and scope alongside the subscription quote.

General school software and marketplaces

Teach ‘n Go

Teach ‘n Go markets to madrasas, maktabs and Quran programs. Its Islamic school page describes attendance, invoices and a parent and learner portal. Teach ‘n Go is worth evaluating for group-class administration and an Arabic interface; Halqora supports individual classes and has an English interface.

As of 21 October 2026, Teach ‘n Go lists EUR 69 or USD 79/month for up to 100 live students and a 14-day trial without a card. We could not find structured hifz tracking on Teach ‘n Go’s Islamic school page as of 21 October 2026. Ask for a demonstration if memorization records matter.

Qutor

Qutor is a marketplace for finding tutors or students, with a separate supplied-tutor schools program. As of 21 October 2026, its marketplace fee is the greater of 20% of the tutor’s hourly rate or USD 1, according to its fee page. Credits expire after 1 year; schools-program pricing requires a quote.

Questions to ask any vendor

Ask every vendor to demonstrate a familiar week and billing period. Bring anonymized examples of a family invoice, a missed class and a teacher’s lesson record. A sales checklist is less useful than watching staff complete the work your academy needs.

  • Class format: Can the product handle your actual teacher-and-student arrangement without a workaround?
  • Scheduling: What happens to recurring lessons when local clocks change? Ask whose local lesson time stays fixed.
  • Billing: What counts as an active student, and does a billing run draft invoices or send them? Test sibling billing and the currencies your families use.
  • Payments: Which providers work for your academy’s country? Ask how unclear transfers reach an admin for review.
  • Progress: Are records structured hifz fields or written feedback, and can parents actually see them?
  • Teacher pay: Who records outcomes, who approves exceptions, and does the software calculate pay or transfer money?
  • Switching: What data can you import and retrieve, and which unfinished balances need manual review?

Before switching, agree on how staff will close the current billing period. Check the imported student rates, currencies, timetables and family relationships against your existing records. Keep unresolved payments visible until an admin has matched or explained them.

Questions

What is the best madrasa management software?

For an in-person madrasa or maktab, compare MaktabMate, Muallim, Ilmify and Sabaq against your hifz records, attendance process and local fee collection. Teach 'n Go also markets software to Islamic schools. Online one-to-one academies need a different assessment: live teaching, scheduling across time zones, family billing and payment matching. Choose by the work your staff actually perform.

Which software should an online Quran academy compare?

Compare Clasify, Halqora and QuranSuite for online one-to-one teaching. Test scheduling across clock changes, the classroom's Mushaf, family invoice currencies and payment collection from your country. Halqora uses fixed outcome rules and requires an admin to review and send draft invoices. Ask each vendor to demonstrate your own teaching and billing process before choosing.

Which Quran academy tools track hifz progress?

According to their public pages checked on 21 October 2026, MaktabMate describes juz-by-juz sabaq, sabqi and manzil records, Muallim describes hifz targets, Ilmify describes hifz and nazirah tracking, and QuranSuite describes reading and memorization progress. Halqora has no structured hifz module. Its teachers submit internal ratings and written feedback for admins; families cannot see those lesson reports.
